Fast Frederick Facts

Barbara FritchieFrederick resident Barbara Fritchie was ninety-five years old when Confederate troops passed by her door in September of 1862. Although historians have cast doubt upon her response to the Rebel Army, she was immortalized in John Greenleaf Whittier’s Poem, Barbara Frietchie.

ANNUAL APPEAL

In the fall of each year the Historical Society of Frederick County conducts its Annual Appeal Campaign. Through this campaign members and friends of the Society have the opportunity to make a fully deductible contribution in support of the programs and services of the organization. Although the Annual Appeal Campaign is held in the fourth quarter of each year, contributions toward this year's campaign are accepted at any time.

Our 2007 Annual Appeal Campaign goal is $18,000.

For more information about making an Annual Appeal Contribution, please contact Duane at ddoxzen@hsfcinfo.org.

The Historical Society of Frederick County is
a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization,
donations to which are deductible to the full extent of the law. The Society’s current financial statement is available upon request. Information submitted to State of Maryland under the Charitable Solicitations Act is available from the Office of the Secretary of State for the cost of copying and postage.
